EMTP Internship Program

The EMTP Internship Program

*Following successful completion of Module One and Module Two

This Internship Program has been designed to provide practitioners with the experience of working directly with clients, under the guidance and direction of a supervisor. Twenty hours of direct and indirect supervision can be applied to a number of cases from a variety of referral sources.

This third course in the series is designed to put practitioners “in the mediation room”. Students will co-mediate and take cases as the sole mediator when it is determined between intern and supervisor that this is appropriate. The twenty hours are organized directly between the intern and the supervisor, and an intern may have more than one supervisor.

All intern’s progress will be reviewed on a regular basis by the Program Supervisors and the Program Director; self-evaluations are also part of the program.

Admission to the Internship is by application, and subject to availability of supervisors and the suitability of the applicant.

Candidates will have completed Module One and Two of the Elder Mediation program or have equivalency.
