EMTP Elder Family Conferencing™ (EFC™)

Course Description

This intensive three-day program (24 hours) is designed to immerse participants in the family centered process called Elder Family Conferencing™. Different from its ADR cousin, Elder Mediation, EFC™ utilizes the skills of the Facilitator to assist the senior and family develop immediate and/or long-term plans in a highly focused and goal-oriented way. It is anticipated that the participants will have backgrounds in the gerontology field, and previous experience facilitating groups and working with systems.

 Through interactive learning, the knowledge and skills learned in the EMTP Core Program will be integrated into group discussions, demonstrations, simulations and role-plays. Coaching and debriefing will provide immediate feedback. At the conclusion of this training, participants will be prepared to include EFC™ as a unique approach in their practice.

Pre-requisites

• EMTP Introduction to Elder Mediation and Elder Family Conferencing™
• Equivalency
