Resa S. Eisen MSW, RSW, Acc.FM (OAFM)

Resa is a dynamic leader, trainer and family mediation expert with over 30 years experience. She is an accomplished public speaker, has spoken at conferences, lectures and has appeared on many radio and television programs across North America.

Resa was the first non-lawyer mediator for the College of Physicians and Surgeons Mediation Program. A dedicated and passionate teacher, Resa has trained generations of mediators who have, in turn, impacted families across the continent. She has taught, designed and implemented mediation programs at University of Toronto, York University and Trent University.

Her Settlement Conference Program designed for Legal Aid Ontario was delivered province-wide. In 2000 she co-founded the Family Mediation Internship Program; a supervisory program with court-based family law cases.  Resa’s training objective is to integrate theory with practice making the training experience immediately useful and applicable. She is now focusing her training expertise on Elder mediation and mediation services for our maturing population.

She has created two widely recognized programs – PRREP™ the precedent setting mediation process to assist in complex, multi-party disputes, and The Wedding Bell Blues Rescue™. She is a director and director of training at Workplace.Calm (www.workplace.calm.to) a leader in conflict and violence prevention and management in the workplace. Their work with public and private enterprise has inspired many to create conflict resolution policies, procedures and programs.

Throughout her career Resa has chaired and been a member of a number of boards and tribunals including the Ontario Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the Ontario Association of Family Mediation, and the Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution.  Resa is a registered marriage and family therapist through the American (AAMFT) and Ontario (OAMFT) Associations for Marriage and Family Therapy, and holds the designation of Approved Supervisor of AAMFT.

Her mediation affiliations include her membership as an Accredited Family Mediator in the Ontario Association of Family Mediation, and she is an Accredited Mediator through Family Mediation Canada. In her 2008 role as Chair of the Ethics Committee for Elder Mediation Canada, Resa participated in completing the Second Edition of the Code for Professional Conduct for Mediators specializing in Issues of Aging. She is a member of CARP (Canadian Association for Retired Persons), the Ontario Gerontology Association and NICE (National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly).
